Kendra joined the Junior League of Orange County in 2013 as a way to deepen her community engagement through voluntarism and to further develop her own skills through professional development opportunities.
As an active member Kendra has served on the Advocacy and Samueli Academy committees and most recently led the Samueli Academy Committee. Currently, Kendra serves on the Executive Management Team as the Vice President of Community.
Kendra brings 12 years of professional experience in non-profit management, strategic planning, fundraising, marketing and event planning. She began her career in non-profits at CASA of Orange County in 2005, after graduating with a B.A. in History and Political Science from Vanguard University. She continued her career in fundraising at The Raise Foundation and Orange County United Way. She currently serves as Executive Director for Developments in Literacy (DIL).
Her passion is connecting people to causes that matter to them and her personal life mission is to lend her voice to those whose voices go unheard. Kendra’s educational background and travels abroad have fostered an interest in international relations in addition to her local community work. She believes that living in a global society means that all of our fates are connected by a common thread. She often quotes Martin Luther King Jr., saying, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Kendra is also the Vice Chair of the Young Professionals Committee for World Affairs Council OC.
