Dr. Sandra Thompson, PhD

Sandra Thompson has been an active member of JLOCC since 2007, where she has served as Treasurer, Fund Development Director, Communications Vice President, Nominating Director, Public Affairs Vice President, The Christmas Company Chair, Training Manager, Advocacy Manager, and Academy Manager. She also served on the JLOCC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force.

She served for two years on the Governance Committee for the Association of Junior Leagues International where she helped recruit and slate the Board of Directors and significant leadership of the Association.

Dr. Thompson is active in the community, representing and volunteering with several non-profit corporations and organizations, among them Delta Gamma Fraternity, Delta Gamma Foundation, Pacific Siamese Rescue, and Southern California Siamese Rescue. Sandra is a Board member of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and has volunteered for their Election Protection initiative since its inception after the 2000 election. She has trained and coordinated legal volunteers in California, North Carolina and Arizona, as part of this pro bono work. She is the Chair of the Advisory Council for the Dean of Science and Mathematics at California State University, San Marcos.

She’s a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Virginia, received her PhD in Analytical Chemistry from North Carolina State University, and received her law degree from Campbell University. She is a partner with Finlayson Toffer Roosevelt & Lilly LLP, where she focuses her legal practice on intellectual property. In her spare time, Sandra plays golf, knits, and watches a lot of baseball.
