Impact OC

Impact OC responds to immediate needs in the community by researching and implementing Done-In-A-Day (DIAD) projects within the JLOCC focus areas. Two of our recurring projects are the annual CASA etiquette dinner and the Anaheim Ducks S.C.O.R.E. (Scholastic Curriculum of Recreation & Education) event.

Every spring, JLOCC partners with a restaurant in the county to provide a multi-course plated dinner for foster youth & their advocates. During the dinner, CASA of Orange County teaches the youth about dining etiquette. This is a fun night out that helps build their confidence by teaching them etiquette that they may not have the opportunity to learn in the foster system.

The Anaheim Ducks event is an award-winning educational program, which places an emphasis on the design and engineering processes. The event provides a day of education and hockey for elementary students from over 160 schools. In the past, JLOCC has provided volunteers to help staff the event. For the first time in 2017, we were featured during the “Playground” session. A JLOCC member in the STEM field led a showcase featuring her work in a STEM field with interactive activities and hands-on exhibits.

Other partners Impact OC works with throughout the year include The Child Creativity Lab, Crittenton Services for Children & Families, The Down Syndrome Foundation, OC United Way, Project Hope Alliance, The Raise Foundation, Second Harvest Food Bank, South County Outreach, Working Wardrobes & more.
