Day at the Capitol

The first Monday in May each year, the Junior League of Orange County, CA Inc. sends several of its leaders to Sacramento to meet with legislators and policy makers to discuss issues that are important to the league like Foster Youth and Human Trafficking. This is a day dedicated to collaborating and educating those that represent Orange County and others that share a passion to help vulnerable, at-risk youth in California.

In addition to meeting with policy makers, the Junior League of Orange County, CA Inc. members learn about the Gubernatorial Appointments process, hear from other non-profits that share similar interests, lend a voice in testimony for supported legislation in committee hearings, publicly demonstrate the power of the collective voice of CalSPAC on the Capitol steps via press conference, and are empowered by State Leaders to be the change to improve our great state.

Our Junior League leaders have previously met with dynamic policy makers like Congresswoman Mimi Walters, Congressman Lou Correa, Senator Patricia Bates, Senator Janet Nguyen, Senator John Moorlach, Senator Bob Huff, Assembly member Sharon Quirk-Silva, Assemblymember Tom Daly, Assemblymember Matthew Harper, Assemblymember Travis Allen, Assemblymember Bill Brough, etc. We also work closely with each Orange County legislator’s district office to do hands on activities.
