Benefits

Benefits to Becoming a JLOCC Member

Community Projects

Our outreach programs are designed so JLOCC members can develop their leadership skills through meaningful partnerships that also benefit the community.

Our focus area is “Gender Equality: Empowering all Women and Girls.” Through our rich and robust history of filling in the gaps within our community, we are excited to step into this new area and make a difference by supporting local organizations that help all women and girls thrive.

“I joined JLOCC looking to get plugged into Orange County and to give back, but it quickly became so much more than that. Through Junior League, I’ve grown as a professional, a leader, an advocate, and just become a better member of society. I can’t imagine how different my life would be without the experience and lessons I’ve learned in JLOCC and the friends I’ve made along the way!” – Jessica S., Member since 2014

Capital Development

Capital Development elevates the League’s future success with meaningful community impact and mission-based fundraising initiatives. Capital Development council members guide, train, and lead our League and our community with accountability, decisive action, and enthusiasm. Our signature event, the She Is…Women’s Conference, is planned and produced exclusively by our Members and invites the women in our community to get valuable professional and personal development opportunities, network, and support local women-owned businesses.

When I moved to Orange County, I didn’t know a single person. Junior League gave me the opportunity to collaborate with women from diverse backgrounds and build true friendships. By serving on the Board of Directors, Executive Management Team, and holding various positions across the organization, I’ve expanded my leadership capabilities, which has helped me manage people and teams in other aspects of my life. – Stephanie S., Member since 2015

Training & Leadership Development

The Junior League provides skills-based training and facilitates leadership development for future women civic leaders. These experiences help our members strengthen their skills and empower them to transform the community in big and small ways.

“Junior League has helped me grow skills beyond what’s been available in my professional life. As a result of sitting on the Executive Management Team and Board of Directors, I’ve gained valuable experience leading teams, managing large-scale projects, and strategically thinking about the growth and longevity of an organization.” – Shannon N., Member since 2019

Relationship Building

The Junior League offers many fun opportunities to get to know fellow members and volunteers through our “League Life” events.  Events such as yoga, concerts in the park, happy hour, and other fun activities build camaraderie and enhance volunteer experiences.

“Joining JLOCC made a new place a home by enveloping me in a community of strong, kind and passionate women. The relationships I fostered in the League encouraged me to pursue my journey as a leader resulting in new confidence and skills that I could bring to my day job. I owe not only my personal, but professional growth and promotion to my experiences in this League.” – Meredith K., Member since 2017
